On Tuesday 28th November we co-hosted a webinar with Cities of Migration and Refugees Welcome (Berlin) on the topic “Beyond Bricks and Mortar: Rethinking Refugees and Housing”. We were approached to be part of this because of our work providing refugee accommodation and training, which then benefits the local economy by creating positive social interactions between refugee and host communities at home, at work and in local neighbourhoods.
We used the webinar to showcase our best practice work in refugee resettlement and integration. It focused on our #rethinkingrefugee campaign, which has successfully challenged misinformation about refugee tenants and shifted landlord attitudes from bias against refugees as liabilities to recognising them as community assets.
We were extremely pleased to be asked to share our expertise in this area on a global stage.
